Journey

One of the greatest challenges for a traveler is to set aside one’s conditioning- our thought and behavior patterns- and to let ourselves be truly receptive to the cultures we visit. When we get to this point of receptivity, we can really listen, really hear the inner voice and wisdom of the people and land.

As a traveler, the spiritual wealth of the Indian subcontinent was like a spiritual playground. Opportunities abound for Self-Understanding. Whether it was my return to Kopan Monastery for a residential study course, silent 10-day meditation retreats, yoga and meditation study at Ashrams, or countless months of hiking through the Himalayas, my experiences in the subcontinent made me ripe for spiritual growth.
